Beta Chi Omega Chapter Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is pleased to announce its 2018 scholarship recipients are as follows:
The Eunice Poindexter Scholarship for Outstanding Academic Achievement to Jeanette Sako, the daughter of Jennifer Alston and Amadou Sako and graduating from William Byrd High School. The Hattie B. Austin Scholarship to Daijah Thomas, the niece of JoAnne Cook-Thomas, a senior at William Fleming High School. Additional academic scholarships are awarded to Alexis West, daughter of Walter and Kisha West, a senior at William Byrd High School; Neya Williams, daughter of Shameka Washington, a senior at Hidden Valley High School; Phazhon Nash, son of Tanisha Nash, a senior at Northside High School; Andre Pullen, son of Kimberly Pugh and Cedric Pullen, Savion Trigg, son of Deidre Trigg; and Sheridan Saunders, daughter of Thelma Saunders and Stacy Ollie, all seniors at William Fleming High School.
The chapter is also pleased to renew a 4-year scholarship awarded in 2017 to Ms. Egette Indele, a rising sophomore at George Mason University.
Beta Chi Omega would like to express sincere gratitude to all who supported both events, A Nite At the Races and An Evening of Elegance, the proceeds from which the chapter’s scholarships were funded.
