On Friday and Saturday, May 1-2, the Star Quilters Guild will hold a quit show at the Berglund Center in Roanoke. Hours are 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Friday and on Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission is $7.00 per person, with children 12 and under free.
The “Vintage to Modern” show will include a “bed-turning”-a display of quilts dating from the 1850s to modern times with comments on their history and design.
Eighteen pairs of quilt blocks will show how designs and techniques for making guilts have changed over the years.
Over 150 quilts have been submitted and will be judged by Marcel Miller, president of the National Quilting Association.
The show will include door prizes, a Viewers’ Choice Award” and venders selling fabric, machines, and quilting supplies. Clothing artist Nancy Chu Farris will display her award winning creations.
The Berglund Center (formerly the Roanoke Civic Center) is at Exit 4 (Orange Ave) from 1-581.
