Congratulations to Kaitlyn Shaw who won the Miss Roanoke Teen Pageant held Saturday April 25 at The Venue in downtown Roanoke.
This is the second year for the Miss Roanoke USA prelim, which is one of only 3 official prelims held across the state of Virginia each year. She is the first African American Teen to win this prelim title in Roanoke.
Kaitlyn will now move on to the state competition, to be held October 10 and 11 in Charlottesville, VA. Her goal is to become the first African American teen to win at State level.
She received her crown, sash, as well as gift certificates to Proms Pageants and Pretty Things (from which all of her pageant attire was purchased) and Body by Craig. Her Pageant coach is Kyle Haggerty and Assoc.
Kaitlyn, a William Fleming sopomore, is one of triplets (brother, Kenneth, II and sister Klaudia) and daughter of Eva Shaw-Gill and Demare W. Gill, Sr.
Please join the family in wishing Kaitlyn the very best in her continuous endeavor to be a teen trailblazer.
