As adults we can remember how we were encouraged by our parents to read. Now, as adults ourselves we still should read and encourage our youth to do so.
What happens when we read? We learn! I can’t help but wonder how many of us as adults read “The Roanoke Tribune,” then pass it on to the youth or others to read. How many of us know what’s going on in the school system? Know about the recent report by the Economic Policy Institute (EPI)?
I will be the first to say I did not know, but I know now because I read it in “The Roanoke Tribune!” Maia Chaka the first Black Woman to officiate NFL or Spelman Alumni winning $100,000 Black Ambition prize. All of this and more were in the “Tribune.” Its full of news every week, read about those who are not doing all bad things there. It’s a lot of good in all of us so read about it and tell someone else that you read it in “The Roanoke Tribune!”
I have been reading the Tribune every week for years. It excites me to read the good things that our people are doing. But there is a book we should all read that will really excite us its called The Holy Bible or turn into WTOY every Sunday Morning 1480 on the am dial starting at 7:45am. A preacher will be preaching the word, telling everyone who chooses to listen about Jesus.
So call me! I will see to it that you get “The Roanoke Tribune” and I will see to it you get the Word, God’s Word! So you get the Tribune and read the news, you read the Bible you learn from Jesus and what “thus said the Lord!”
So read and learn! Once you start you will keep on and on and that’s a lot of learning and you are never too old to learn.
