Dr. Robert R. Johnson, Jr. graduated on May 15, 2015 with a PhD in Education. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Virginia Tech on June 26, 1993 and his Masters degree in Vocational and Technical Instruction from Virginia Tech in 1994.
Dr. Johnson has served as principal at Lucy Addison Middle School for 13 years and is known for his academic and community work and achievements.
Aisha Johnson, wife of Dr. Robert R. Johnson, graduated from Hollins College on May 22, 2015 with a Masters degree in Liberal Studies. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Pittsburg in 1988 and is currently employed by the City of Roanoke as Assistant to the City Manager. Aisha is the daughter of Charon Battles and the late Ismet Mowherin.
Cameron A. Johnson, who graduated from William Fleming High School on May 29, 2015 signed with Grace College in Winona Lake, IN on a Track and Field Scholarship majoring in Exercise Science.
Johnson is an impressive hurdles runner who placed in three events during each of the past two 4A state championships. As a junior, he placed fifth in the 300-meter hurdles and eighth in both the 55 and 110 hurdles. He improved all three finishes during his senior season in 2015, placing fourth in the state in the 300 hurdles and sixth in both the 55 and 110 hurdles.
Another highlight of Johnson’s 2015 season was qualifying for the New Balance National Track Meet for the 400 hurdles. During his career, he has run the 110, 300 and 400 hurdles, 200 and 400 dash, and 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relays.
Johnson has been involved with the Distributive Education Clubs of America all four years of high school. He also participated in ROTC as a freshman.
He is the son of Genia Otey-Fox and Robert, Jr. (Aisha) Johnson; and the grandson of Robert, Sr. (Louise M.) Johnson.
