The Roanoke Chapter Continental Societies, Inc. will begin the year with newly installed officers. Outgoing president and newly elected Mid- Atlantic Regional Chaplain, Gloria Randolph-King presided over the meeting and gave the ceremonial gavel to President-Elect Donna Lee.
Continental Patricia Baker conducted a very creative installation ceremony. In addition to the president, the newly installed officers are: First Vice President; Quo Vadis Washington-Brown; Second Vice President; Lorena Wilson; Corresponding Secretary-Loretta Freeman; Sgt-At-Arms-Linda Journiette; Parliamentarian, Barbara Brooks and Public Relations Officer, Gloria Randolph-King all pictured above.
Other officers continuing in their positions are: Recording Secretary, Pat Baker; Treasurer, Nancy Andrews; Financial Secretary, Hazel Jones and Chaplain, Paula Morgan included in above photo.
The Continental Societies is a national non-profit, public service organization that focuses attention on children and their needs. The organization fosters high self-esteem and help children/youth accomplish life goals.
In keeping with the Continental’s mission, four graduating seniors were presented 2015 Continental scholarship checks at the meeting held in the home of Continental Natalie Andrews.
The Roanoke Chapter is looking forward to a very busy year as the new officers and members begin to prepare for the MAR Regional Meeting to be held in Roanoke in 2017 and plan to continue working with the Continental Angels and other HEER activities.
