On December 18th on a cold night, downtown Roanoke was the place to be. The humble hustle company put on its first-ever Hustler’s Ball. The colors were black, white, and gold and everyone was dressed to impress. Xavier Duckett, founder, and president of Humble Hustle said that many of his friends and family kept mentioning to him over the last seven years that Humble Hustle should do a gala for the nonprofit organization. He said at the time he didn’t feel it was the right moment.
Leaning on his spiritual foundation, he said year seven felt like it was the right time to do the Hustlers Ball. The red carpet event started at 6 PM at the historic Corinthian Ballroom on Kirk Avenue. The program at 6 PM was a dinner catered by Carrabba’s Italian Grill, with live music by Hughes Music Entertainment. As people dressed in tuxedos and gowns walked into the room, they were greeted by the volunteers in Humble Hustle staff that helped to put on the event.
As the evening went on Xavier, himself at the 7 o’clock award show, gave out special awards from him to many individuals for their continued dedication and consistent work to Humble Hustle that they have dedicated over the last 7 years. Donna Sweetenberg, the mother of Xavier, read a special poem, dedicated to her son for his tremendous work. He was also surprised by his family, as they gave him an award in honor of his grandmother. After the award ceremony, Humble Hustle continued the night by hosting a party at 8 PM with entertainment provided by Dj Kidd. The event was sponsored by Mast General Store, Roanoke Outside, Carrabbas, Humble Hustle Clothing, and Xavier Tramiane Creative Consulting. The same theme throughout the entire night by everyone in attendance was the motto of Xavier and Humble Hustle, and that is to keep giving.
