United Way of Roanoke Valley is excited to announce that last week our President and CEO, Abby Hamilton, received a remarkable invitation from United Way Worldwide. She has been selected as one of two VA United Way CEOs to attend the Communities in Action: Building a Better Virginia event at the White House on Thursday, June 1, 2023.
Communities in Action: Building a Better Virginia is part of a prestigious White House series that will feature local elected officials and community leaders who are dedicated to improving their communities and creating opportunities for their residents. This event will shine a spotlight on the Biden-Harris Administration’s investments and their impact on communities across Virginia. Abby will have the incredible opportunity to share real-life examples and personal stories of the profound impact United Way of Roanoke Valley has had during this session.
We cannot express how proud we are of Abby’s exceptional leadership within our organization. Her selection out of the 21 United Ways in VA is a true testament to her dedication and commitment. We are truly honored to have her representing our community at such a prominent event, and we have no doubt that she will eloquently voice the concerns and needs of those who often go unheard.
