The Ladies of Vision (LOV) Ministry presents its annual conference “Love Shouldn’t Hurt” on Saturday, April 18, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at High Street Baptist Church, 2302 Florida Ave. in NW. Serving as the Conference Mistress of Ceremony is Melissa Gaona, WDBJ’s co-anchor and founder of Ignition Ministries.
The keynote speaker, Katie Gilbert of Saratoga County, New York, will share her compelling story of “The Eye of the Survivor.” Katie is a true testament of survival. She was shot in the head with a 12-gauge shotgun yet her spirit remains unbroken. We are honored to have Katie tell her story. In addition to Gilbert on the program and for musical enjoyment are heart-warming soloists Crystal Williams and Tamika Perry-Johnson. Other guests include Inspirational Messenger Pastor Josh Cunningham, powerful facilitators, trained counselors, and impactful agencies who provide valuable information and support.
The purpose of the conference is to increase awareness of Domestic Violence issues and to share the services that are available to survivors and their families in the Roanoke Valley. Separate breakout sessions are offered for women, men, teens, and young adults for a more powerful experience along with one-on-one prayer and counseling.
