Kathlyn and her twin sister Kristen both graduated from Virginia State University on May 16. Kathlyn earning a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (cum laude). During her time at VSU, she was an honors college scholar and an active member of the National Association of Colored People (NAACP), Crown Her, and the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS). Kathlyn was also recognized as a Computing Scholar. Following graduation, she plans to pursue graduate studies in the fall continuing building a successful career in the technology field.
Kristen received her Bachelor of Science in Biology (cum Laude). While at Virginia State, she was a member of VSU Crown Her, VSU Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students (M.A.P.S.), and teacher assistant for the College of Natural and Health Sciences.
In the fall, Kristen will attend Virginia State’s master program in elementary Education.
Kristen and Kathlyn are the twin daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Brown and the granddaughter of James and Linda Bethel.
