Klaas Kids Foundation, a non-profit organization, and Security Lock and Key will jointly host a Klaas Kids Print-A-Thon to promote and educate families about child safety and fingerprint and photograph children at no cost. Each participating child will receive a comprehensive packet of child safety tools. Using computerized systems that were originally designed for a federal law enforcement agency each child will receive digitized fingerprints, an undated photograph, a DNA Collection Kit developed by the California DNA Laboratory, pro-active child safety tips and a 9-point plan on what to do if your child disappears.
This event will take place Saturday, Feb. 6, 10 am-4 pm at Tanglewood Mall’s 17th Annual Tons of Fun 2016, 4420 A Electric Road.
Marc Klaas will be available for remote radio and print interviews prior to the event. To arrange an interview, please contact Violet at 415-235-4229.
The Klaas Kids Foundation was created following the 1993 kidnap and murder of 12-year-old Polly Klaas. Klaas Kids Foundation child safety programs are designed to promote awareness and education for parents and children in an effort to protect children against violence. Since 1994, Print-A-Thon events have fingerprinted and photographed more than 1,000,000 children at no cost to families and without databasing children’s personal and private information.
As a service to the community, Security Lock and Key is underwriting this program so that there is no charge to families.
