When moral, ethical, patriotic citizens know better, they tend to do better for their country. They also forgive themselves for not knowing better in the past, assess what harm they may have done that lingers in the present, and work to rectify that harm.
Currently, America is on the very brink of full-blown Trumpism which melds racism, misogyny, treason, masculinism, white male heteropatriarchy and religion – inseparably — into an historically unique, perfected form of Politicized Theocracy. Like Louis XIV, Trump says: I am the state!
Einstein said that if the majority knew of the root of this evil, then the road to its cure would not be long.
Political Party Leadership is principally controlled by the Presidents in power and connotes separate political philosophies as pertain primarily to the two major parties – Democrats – Liberal; and Republicans – Conservative. Trumpism is a classic representation of the “tail wagging the dog.” Trump’s segment of the Republican Party — Radical Right Extremists, RREs — is aided in elections by traditional Republicans, but the latter majority certainly have no control Trump’s Party. If Trump is the state, then his RRE Party is the Republican Party and now dominates the American political system.
“Many Voters Hate Both Parties. The Democratic Party’s approval rating hovers around 40 percent, and the Republican Party’s is even lower.” (NYT, Sept. 17, 2026)
This condition empowers Trumpists for they have one dominating objective — Fascism; and one leader with a bully platform.
We are not born members of a political party or any other societal grouping whose cultural tenets, behavioral expectations and mindsets seal us as members. As we mature, what we learn stamps us with certainties in our unconscious minds commensurate with the power of biological DNA, sometimes even more powerful.
Leaders’ maniacal political partisanship is inculcated by ordinary citizens; nevertheless, people hold HETERODOXIC views in their mindsets. Yet, party faithful democrats are in group-think, lockstep with “liberal” views on most issues, and Republican faithful hold “conservative” views on the same issues. In particular, a huge percentage of party members have been indoctrinated with the obligation to always act in consonance with the dictates of the party when choosing among candidates. Trumpists benefit from both RRE cultists and rote-voting Republicans.
Heterodoxy denotes unorthodoxy, dissent, and deviation, and leaders already in power are threatened by people with that trait. They prefer Orthodoxy, custom, and adherence to the status quo ante. The desire for conformity has become even more acute as America has undergone dramatic demographic and social changes – e.g., nearly 80 percent of the growth in the electorate has come from non-white Americans.
Despite the harm to democracy, the leaders of the major parties have proven incapable of promulgating beneficial Heterodoxy through political statesmanship; thus, the members of the political parties should reclaim or retain their mindfulness, freedom of thought, and the power to exercise independence in political decision-making.
Democracies these days devolve into despotism not because evil people seize power by force, but because the citizens give it to them by their indifference to elections.
The most effective means of continuing to suppress, oppress, and exploit citizens is to convince them that they have no power; that there is nothing they can do to improve their condition in their nation; and that their votes don’t matter.
What moral, ethical, patriotic citizens should recall:
Hillary Clinton defeated Trump by nearly 3 million popular votes; and combined with six million votes for Others, Trump lost by nearly 9 million popular votes.
Musk’s Money and Trump’s Duplicitous Political Acumen were in existence in 2020 when Trump was defeated emphatically by over 7 million popular votes.
Although Trump won in 2024, more citizens chose to self-disenfranchise rather than vote for him. Some 111 million voter eligible citizens self-disenfranchised and 77.9 million voted for Harris and Others. Thus, almost 190 million voters did not choose Trump.
On November 4, 2025, Virginia elected its first-ever female governor and a record-breaking 14 women were elected to governors’ offices across the country.
Civilized people have difficulty combatting truly evil people. Since 2007, as Trump began his rise, advocates for democracy have been incapable of thwarting our domestic enemies.
Decent citizens continue to trust traditional politicians and seek to achieve the public good without sinking to the level of America’s enemies, who will stop at nothing to accomplish their Fascist ends.
VOTING IS DEMOCRACY’S PARAMOUNT WEAPON AGAINST FASCISM: About 71% of white voters cast ballots as compared with 58% of minority voters. Some 12 to 13 million voter eligible Blacks and 52 million 18-30 year-olds are consistent non-voters. If minorities and the young were “educated” about the power of voting and galvanized by Democratic Statespersons to increase their voting rate to that of white voters, America, as suggested by Einstein, would soon return to the road to Democracy.
