SWAC Hoops Media Days, Oct. 6 -7
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference will host its annual Men’s and Women’s Basketball Media Days on Tuesday, October 6 (WBB) and Wednesday, October 7 (MBB) at 10:00 a.m. CST on both days at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Birmingham, Ala.
All SWAC head men’s and women’s basketball coaches and two student-athletes from each team will be in attendance to address the media regarding the upcoming 2026-27 basketball seasons.
The league will also announce the 2026-27 SWAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Predicted Order of Finishes at the events.
Media one-on-one interviews with head coaches and student-athletes will begin at 10:00 a.m. CST and both events will be streamed live on SWAC TV.
SC State, Benedict Stay in Top 25
Two-time defending MEAC football champion South Carolina State (4-0) moved up from 16th to 14th in this week’s AFCA FCS Top 25.
The Bulldogs got a big 20-17 win on the road over FCS No. 24 Furman Saturday. They play at Bethune-Cookman Saturday (7 p.m., HBCUgo.tv).
Benedict, undefeated at 3-0, moved up from 19th to 15th in the AFCA NCAA Div. II poll. The Tigers barely came away with a 34-33 overtime win on the road at Fort Valley State. They hit the road again to face Tuskegee on Thursday night (6 p.m., ESPN2).
