Roanoke Festival in the Park has provided scholarship money to local high school seniors and college bound freshman-pursuing higher education for 25 years. This year, the scholarship award includes seven awards up to $500 for full-time students pursing a major or minor in the arts.
“The Festival has provided more than $125,000 in scholarships to area students,” said Skip Brown, CEO/CFO of Roanoke Festival in the Park, Inc. To be considered for a scholarship, applicants must be planning further study with a minor or major in the fine arts, such as music, dance, theater, sculpture, painting, photography or drawing.
Scholarships will be awarded in the music, performing arts and visual arts categories. In addition, a special honorable mention award is available.

Headliners this year include: Parrots of the Caribbean – a Salute To Jimmy Buffett; Little Texas; Committed – the 2nd year winner of ‘The Sing off’ on NBC and 1964 The Tribute. They will take the stage over Memorial Day weekend.
