What is a queen without a Court? Miss Jabberwock’s court is comprised of the other winners who are: First Runner-Up: Jayda Brown, Second Runner-up: Aliyah Basham and 3rd place winner: Leila Bryant.
Jabberwock 2016, ENCORE, held at the Jefferson Center on Saturday, May 14, was the place to be. Under the direction of Greg Addison, owner of Hair Attitudes, the production, ENCORE, featured seven 2016 contestants, their escorts, 9 returning Miss Jabberwock Queens and several past escorts in an exciting show.
With over ten years as Jabberwock director, Mr. Addison wanted to celebrate the successes of these young people as they joyfully returned with untiring energy and showmanship. The accomplishments of the queens and escorts acclaimed college level studies, BS degrees, Masters degrees and one PH.D. The production brought nostalgia back to stage as they all performed to hits from the Broadway show, “Dreamgirls” and other show stoppers.
Past queens recognized were: Miss 2006-Antasia Ward; 2007-Tiffany Jordan; 2008 Bianca Branson; 2009-Morgan Allen; 2010- Marjorita Coles; 2011- Signe’ Wright; 2012 Jasmine Keeling; 2013-Aaliyah Gray; 2014-Sierra Brown and reigning Miss Jabberwock 2015-Sydnee Evans.
Ms. Kayla Flood, choreographer worked with 18 youth to make the Jabberwock Kids an outstanding addition to the program as they performed a skit and dance to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” The sorority is very proud of all of the contributions of the children and of their parent’s involvement in making this Jabberwock production a real success.
Jabberwock 2016 Chair, Patricia White-Boyd and Co-chair, Tanisha Nash, 2nd Vice President along with the members of the sorority salute the contestants, the escorts and all of the participants including parents for their support and hard work in this wonderful musical experience.
