Friendship Living continues its “Summer Concert Series” Saturday, June 25 with Absoulut as the featured performers. The monthly concerts run through September and will raise funds for a different area non-profit each month. The June concert beneficiary will be Mental Health America of Roanoke Valley. The evening’s festivities will begin at 6:00 p.m. and take place at the Friendship amphitheatre located in the back of Friendship’s campus at 450 Springbeauty St. in Roanoke.
Led by singer/songwriter Renee Ruth, it is no accident that Absoulut spells their name with “SOUL” at the center! The heart and soul of the band is the music and they bring a party wherever they perform. Playing an eclectic mix of soul and pop music, Absoulut collectively has 25 years plus performing around the United States and abroad.
Open to the public, concert admission is $5 at the door and free for children under 12. All proceeds from admission will be collected to support the work of Mental Health America of Roanoke Valley. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets for the concert. Food and beverage trucks will be on-site as well during the concert. No outside food will be allowed.
Additional concerts, listed below, will be held this summer with each benefiting a different organization. All shows begin at 6:00 p.m.
July 23, Jane Powell (benefiting JDRF Greater Blue Ridge Chapter); August 27, Seven Mile Ford (benefiting LOA’s Meals on Wheels); and September 10, Legacy Motown Revue (benefiting Alzheimer’s Association – Central and Western Virginia Chapter)
