The Williamson Road Area Business Association is holding Star City Sock Hop to kick-off Star City Motor Madness. Star City Sock Hop will be on Thursday night June 23 on the Preston Park tennis courts (3100 block of Trinkle Ave.) from 6:30-9:00 p.m. Star City Cruise night is Friday June 24, from 6:00-10:00 p.m.
Star City Sock Hop Celebrates Americana and Williamson Road sock hop history and features DJ Kevin Scott, the Q99 Diner, local brews and food by Club Friendship. There will be a Costume and Dance Contest will prizes and the Q99 prize wheel. Dress in 50’s costumes or come as you are to relive Roanoke City’s sock hops of the 1950s & 60s on the Preston Park Tennis Court! Tickets at $10 each and can be purchased online or at the WRABA office located at 4804 Williamson Road.
Please call the office at (540) 362-3293 before stopping by to make sure someone is there. Tickets do not include beer or food…these tickets will be sold separately at the event.
Hop rules: No pets, no outside food or drink, no backpacks or coolers, BYO chairs/blankets, must show valid ID for beer purchase, and must show valid ID of ticket purchaser to pick tickets up at Will Call.
Star City Motor Madness Cruise night Friday, June 24 celebrates Americana through our automobile history. Remember the days of cruising Williamson Road? Well, Friday night is all about that and more! This event is free to the public.
