The Lucy Addison High School Class of 1961 held its 55th Class Reunion, August 12-14 at the Holiday Inn, Valley View in Roanoke. The Reunion began on Friday as classmates received a hearty welcome and registration packets prepared by the reunion committee. The celebration continued on Friday evening as members gathered to reflect upon class and individual memories and catch up on latest happenings.
Saturday featured a brief class meeting followed by a journey to the Lucy Addison Memorial Wall located at the School site, (adorned in blue tee shirts for photos). Saturday evening provided another opportunity for the class to continue the reunion spirit as a class photo was taken (Clifford Ramey, photographer) to capture the class members present. The banquet hall was decorated in the blue and white Addison High colors and a lovely dinner followed.
The evening featured a walk down memory lane past and present predictions of what members would do and are doing, a memorial ceremony with class certificates of participation presented by Class president Carolyn K. Patterson and Class Vice President, William Mebane. The evening concluded with singing of the Addison Alma Mater and the group listened and danced to the music of the band Soul 2 Soul.
