Beta Chi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is sponsoring a Zumba Fitness Party to benefit TAP’s Sabrina’s Place. The Zumba Party will be held Saturday, Oct. 1 at 1:00 p.m., in the High Street Baptist Church Community Center. Cost of admission is $10.
Sabrina’s Place is named in memory of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority member, the late Sabrina Rucker Reed. The Radford University graduate and dedicated nurse was the victim of a domestic violence.
TAP sponsors Sabrina’s Place, as a supervised visitation and Safe Exchange Center developed to prevent violence from occurring between family members during the exchange or visitation of children.
In addition to providing a safe, secure environment for children and their parents, Sabrina s Place provides services that promote healthy interactions between family members and prevent the victimization of both parents and children. Your $10 donation will benefit this worthwhile service.
The Zumba Party will feature DJ Clifford Ramey and instructors: T ee Barlow, Dr Jason D. Wimbush, Ann Straub De Oliveira, Melissa Trejo, Eunice Khetani, and Mellisa May.
Pamela Edwards is the president of the local chapter; Carla Shepherd is program chairman.
