Towers Shopping Center merchants donated $1,000 to Northside Middle School.
The donation will be used in part towards a Staff Appreciation ceremony and The School-Wide Discipline Plan program, which promotes good behavior.
“We want to give back to our faculty and staff to show our appreciation for everything they do” said Lori Wimbush, principal at Northside Middle School. “The donation will also be used to reward students that stay out of trouble and lead by good example.”
The donation was part of Towers Shopping Center’s holiday shopping spree promotion, which included a $1,000 shopping spree drawing and a $1,000 donation to a local school. Regina Bratzler, winner of the shopping spree, chose Northside Middle School to receive the money. Bratzler’s two close friends are both teachers at the school.
This is the 14th year the merchants of Towers Shopping Center have donated funds to local schools. Previous winning schools include: Virginia Heights Elementary School, Wasena Elementary School, Woodrow Wilson Middle School, William Fleming High School, Patrick Henry High School, James Madison Middle School, Highland Park Learning Center, Clearbrook Elementary School and William Byrd Middle School.
