Total Action for Progress (TAP) is delighted to present Brenda Hale with this year’s Cabell Brand Hope Award. Hale has devoted her life to serving her community and TAP is proud to honor her with this award. The presentation will be made to Hale at TAP’s Annual Lunch on October 16 at St. John’s Episcopal Church. The public is invited to attend.
An army veteran and licensed nurse, Hale’s accomplishments center around service. In 1993 she became a Gold Life Member of the NAACP and later became the president of the Roanoke Brand NAACP; a position that she still holds to date.
The award is presented in honor of TAP’s founder, who was a tireless advocate for a wide spectrum of issues. Brand generously gave of his time and efforts to enhance the quality of life for local individuals, families, and communities. The legacy is proudly continued by its presentation this year to NAACP president and community activator who embodies the spirit of its namesake.
