Two distinguished members of Acorn Consistory #103 in Roanoke were elected to the Grand Inspector General (GIG) degree at The United Supreme Council, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite for the 33rd Degree of Freemasonry Southern Jurisdiction, Prince Hall Affiliated Grand Orient of the District of Columbia. Several members from Roanoke were on hand to witness this outstanding occasion held October 5-9th in Raleigh N.C. as GIG Dr. John Vernon, Jr. and GIG Dr. E.T. Burton proudly donned their gold trimmed Crowns!
Rev. Dr. Burton has been a member of Alleghany-Dunbar Lodge for over 50 years. Dr. Vernon was a member in Columbus, and has been with Alleghany-Dunbar Lodge for over 40 years.
