The 2018 Annual Roanoke Neighborhoods’ “Harvesting of the Fruits” Potluck Dinner and Awards Celebration will be held on Friday, Nov. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m., in Fitzpatrick Hall at the Jefferson Center (541 Luck Ave.).
Sponsored by the Office of Neighborhood Services and Roanoke Neighborhood Advocates, in partnership with Roanoke City Council, this annual potluck dinner provides an opportunity for neighbors from across the city to share a delicious dinner together and recognize residents’ contributions to their community.
Over the past few weeks, citizens have submitted nominations to the city for recognition of those who have made significant efforts to help their neighborhoods become great places to live, work, play, and invest. During the dinner, members of Roanoke City Council and the Roanoke Arts Commission will present the 2018 Neighborhood Partnership Awards from the pool of submitted nominations received. In addition, Roanoke’s Citizen of the Year will be announced at this event.
Attendance is free, however each participant is asked to bring a special dish to share with 8 to 10 other participants, and to confirm their attendance by registering in advance.
