The Rescue Mission is asking previous Drumstick DASH participants to wear their favorite DASH t-shirt on Friday, Nov. 2.
Soon, thousands of runners and walkers will gather in Downtown Roanoke for the 13th annual Union Bank & Trust Drumstick DASH, the Mission’s largest annual fundraiser!
“The DASH is great fun and for so many families over the last 13 years, it has become a special Thanksgiving tradition,” says Race Director Uneita Mathews. “But more than that, their participation is helping to feed other families who are hungry and homeless. By wearing these shirts, our faithful Dashers help spread the word and inspire others to come out on Thanksgiving Day to move their feet so others can eat.”
The Rescue Mission is also asking people to post a picture of themselves in their favorite DASH shirt on their social media. It can be a selfie, group photo, or even a Boomerang! Make sure to use the hashtag #DASH18 and tag the Rescue Mission on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@rescuemission48).
November 12 is the deadline to register early for the DASH and guarantee a t-shirt size, but registration continues right up to race day. People can register in person at the Rescue Mission or online at drumstickdash.net.
