All living things change! Some gradually and less noticeably, others when more quickly, often met with more resistance. But the extent and quality of life, whether spiritual, animal, vegetable or mineral, is determined largely upon its adaptability to the challenges of change.
Seasons change and the actions and attire suitable for one is usually totally inappropriate for the other.
Diets change. The infant whose initial digestive system can tolerate only milk for the first several weeks of its life will become weak, undernourished and undeveloped if left indefinitely upon its original diet for the rest of its life. In just the past century of a world that dates purportedly back millions of years, unprecedented changes have occurred in the development of science and technology that has emerged from covered wagons to interplanetary travel and man has learned to instantly and drastically change everything-– but man!
It appears that mankind through time, has been perfecting the potential of both physical and mental development and in so doing is arriving at the its final stage of its triune nature–Spiritual perfection without which all others will continue to be misused and abused!
The process of this spiritual perfecting, however must also drastically change as it is evident that the traditional church that once served as the unifying force of every community less than a century ago, has now become the its biggest divider. Could that have been what Christ was referring to when stating: “This (wine) represents My Blood, shed for the remission of sins.” and “This Bread represents My broken Body…?”
When you have lived through over 90 years of this nation’s historical past you view things from a different perspective–especially as the daughter of a pastor from childhood.
Sweeping political changes are occurring throughout the world–toward which America has always stood as its model! What credibility are we caught with at this present crucial state? Even past powerful organizations and individuals playing unparalleled roles in the changing of this nation’s past civil and social climate are now out of step as they march to a different drummer as today’s society sings different tunes.
In recent years we have watched the pendulum of time swing from one extreme to another while currently heading full speed …? There is consequently a dire need for today’s leaders (and we all are to differing degrees) to reassess our values and rearrange our priorities, placing more importance on and more investment in our children and those contributing most to their physical, mental and especially their spiritual development that they may emerge our true and steadfast hope of tomorrow–starting TODAY!
