To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the heavens. (Ecles: 3:1)
Let’s dwell a bit on the word purpose that Webster defines as, “the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists,”–our individual lives in particular no exception, When the purpose of anything is unknown or disregarded that thing will inevitably be misused and in all probability, abused.
“All men have been created to carry forward an ever-advancing civilization,” we read in this new Day of God. Let none therefore consider the largeness or smallness of the receptacle. The whole duty of man in this Day is to attain that share of the flood of grace which God pours forth for him. That grace is like the rain that comes down that is not bound by limitations or form yet takes on the form, limitations, dimensions and shape according to the characteristics of that place it falls upon. In a square pool it becomes a square or in a round one a circle, etc.
The unfoldment of world order depends directly on an ever-increasing number of people devoting themselves to the realization of God’s purpose for man as expressed in this New Day by a new Messenger of the One God. The quality of such devotion is measured by the degree to which His Teachings are reflected in the behavior of those who stand identified with His faith. This is but the beginning of the prophesied Day when “He shall put a seal upon their lips.”
“The time is now come when naught but the purest motive, supported by deeds of stainless purity can ascend to the thrown of the Most High and be acceptable unto Him.”
To conform behavior to the divine standard raised one must alter his attitudes and values in a way that runs counter to most current trends of “free speech” and behavioral patterns. One must internalize these attitudes to the extent that your speech, dress and artistic pursuits, your behavior at home, work, school, your amusements and interactions with others all proclaim the values you hold and the purpose to which you have dedicated your life.
Once we realize that God’s purpose for man in this Day is to establish a world order inhabited by a “new race of men, incomparable in character “who will cast the sleeve of holiness over all that hath been created from water and clay,” perhaps we can better understand our individual purpose in it during these unparalleled times. With the quantum leap in science and technology over the past 100+ years (of a planet perceived to be millions of years old), at no other time could such purpose be wildly imagined!
“O people! Do not busy yourselves in your own concerns. Let your thoughts be fixed upon that which will rehabilitate the fortunes of mankind and sanctify the hearts and souls of men. This can best be achieved through pure and holy deeds, through a virtuous life and good behavior,” however unpopular.
In this New Day “The essence of faith is fewness of words and the abundance of deeds; he whose words exceed his deeds, know verily his death is better than his life.” ß(Investigate!)
