The family of Corine Johnson has awarded one Roanoke City student annually with the “Mildred Ann Rose Johnson” Scholarship for the 5th consecutive year.
The scholarship fund is a 501 (c)(3) organization here in the Roanoke Valley who provides scholarships to students that attend Roanoke City Schools that are first time college students. It was established in September 2014 and became a 501 (c)(3) organization January 2015.
Rickiecia Rogers a 2019 graduate of William Fleming High School who will be attending Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA majoring in Sociology will be this year’s recipient.
Outback Steakhouse on Franklin Rd., in Roanoke has hosted the scholarship luncheon each year. The family appreciates the Roanoke community for its continuous support and donations throughout the year.
