On May 7, Gamma Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and Que House Foundation announced the awarding of $4500.00 in scholarships to 4 local students in the Roanoke Valley. Recipients of the Gamma Alpha Chapter award were: De’vonte Tinsley, Micah Jeffries and Quaz’meek P. Tasco.
The Que Foundation House recipient of the Brothers Darnell S Glover, Bob Davis and Michael Hamlar renewal scholarship of $1,000.00 is awarded to Neya Williams who, for her second year completed her freshman year at Old Dominion with a 3.75 GPA!
Gamma Alpha is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of youth and promoting positive growth and development in the communities they serve. Their primary goal is to develop and sustain diverse partnerships within the Roanoke Valley.
Gamma Alpha Chapter and Que House Foundation Scholarships are open to graduating high school seniors who wish to pursue a four-year degree at a college or university, who meet their scholastic and community service requirements. All candidates are required to submit an essay detailing who he or she wants to receive our scholarship, stating their ambition, goals, community service, academic and extra-curricular activities in school, church, and community. An official high school transcript certifying applicant’s GPA and a minimum of 2 letters of recommendations are also required.
