Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Beta Chi Omega Chapter, is pleased to announce its 2020 scholarship recipients: from William Fleming High School, Kameron Washington-Brown, recipient of the Eunice Poindexter Scholarship for Outstanding Academic Achievement. Kameron is the daughter of Johnny and Quo Vadis Brown, and Cartlie Vincent, recipient of the Hattie B. Austin Scholarship, her guardians are Marie and Dadly Tilus.
Additional scholarships were awarded to: Madison Gunter, a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School and the daughter of Marlon and Ellen Gunter; Sae´ Quan Bannister, with guardians Marcus and Sara Williams, and Lanie Bethel, the daughter of Earl and Renee Bethel, both graduates of William Fleming High School; Arianna Holmes, a graduate of William Byrd High School, and the daughter of Tiffani Haley and Raleigh Holmes; and Nyave Willis-Rodriguez, a graduate of Patrick Henry High School and daughter of Ursula Willis.
Beta Chi Omega is also pleased to announce the renewal of a 4-year scholarship awarded in 2017 to Egette Indele, a rising senior at George Mason University.
Beta Chi Omega, chartered in 1938 in Roanoke, VA, is one of 1,018 chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. a unique sisterhood of distinguished, professional women who work to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards; promote unity and friendship among college women; study and help alleviate problems concerning girls and women to improve their social stature and maintain progressive interest in college life.
