Celebrating 30 Years of Academic Summer Camp!
On Saturday, June 9, Apple Ridge Farm is kicking off the summer right, with quality music, local food trucks, beer by Parkway Brewing Company and outdoor experiences in celebration of its 30th year of Academic Summer Camp! An eclectic mix of music will begin at noon and continue all day. Outdoor adventure activities include zip line and climbing wall (ages 10+), competitive hill climb, kids’ obstacle course and observation tower. Creek and pond studies and other fun activities also available for kids!
This event is part of the Mountains of Music Homecoming music festival with concerts starting at noon. Featuring: Leftover Biscuits, Solacoustix, The Bell Hornets, and Hoppie Vaughan & Ministersofsoul. There will also be a delicious mix of Food Trucks on hand to add to the festivities.
Introducing the Apple Ridge Hill Climb: This unique “vertical race” starts at 10:30 a.m. and is organized by Muddy Squirrel, LLC. Head on over to http://www.muddysquirrel.com/apple-ridge-hill-climb.html to register! Registration costs just $20 and includes general admission to the Homecoming event!
GUIDELINES & OTHER INFO:
Parking: There is no general on-site parking. Please park at the Church of the Brethren, 8838 Floyd Hwy N, Copper Hill, VA 24079. A shuttle will run to/from the parking lot every 20 minutes as needed. (Please call 540-982-1322 if you have special parking needs).
Dogs: Friendly pet dogs are very welcome, but must be on a leash at all times. (Please clean up after your pet.)
Alcohol: requires I.D. check and 21+ wristband. Your bartender will mark your wristband.
Zip Line and Climbing Wall is restricted to ages 10 and up. Additional charge of $15 covers both activities. Please request your preferred time by emailing “inge@appleridge.org.”
Each activity starts on the hour from 11:00AM until 5:00pm, with a one-hour break at 2:00PM. (No one may participate in zip line or climbing wall after consuming alcohol.)
