The Roanoke Valley Chapter of North Carolina Agricultural & Technical (NC A&T) State University will host the 20th Annual Breakfast on Monday, Jan. 16, that celebrates the life of Dr. Martin L. King, Jr.
Guest speaker this year will be the Honorable Henry E. Frye, first Black Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court who graduated with honors from NC A&T. After college, he entered the US Air Force and rose to the rank of Captain before leaving after four years. He also graduated with honors from the law school at the University of North Carolina and was the first African-American to enter the law school as a first year student. After law school be began a life time of fighting for fairness and justice. He is a Visiting Professor of Political Science and Justice at NC A&T. Justice Frye has held leadership roles in many non-profit, academic, professional, and civic organizations.
