Kayla and Steven Penn both attend the Junior Olympics at Norfolk State University August 2 – 7.
Kayla Grace Penn came in 8th in the nation and is a All-American in the Shot-Put with her best throw this year (19’11). Her brother Steven Kyle Penn came in 10th in the nation in 80-meter hurdles with his best for the year (13.54) and 22nd in the 100-meter dash timed at (13.01).
Both children attend Salem City Schools and run for the Roanoke Valley Tigers. They are the children of Tawanika Pannell Penn and grandchildren of Vincent, Sr. and Dana Pannell.
