The 58th Annual Conclave of Chums Inc. was held on October 18-21, 2018 in Las Vegas, NV, represented by all 36 chapters.
The Children’s Defense Fund and the National Care Mentoring Movement founded by Susan Taylor editor of Essence Magazine were each awarded $5,000.
The National Founders Scholarship was awarded to three deserving seniors, Victoria Lamar (Atlanta, GA), Laura Brooks (Raleigh, NC) and Queenie Jose’( Orlando, Fl).
Collectively the Chums served 24,613 youth and donated $160,000 through this year’s local projects.
“Listen to the children… enrich their lives” is the National Theme of the Chums Inc.
