On Friday, April 20, 2015, Ms. Shelva Clemons of Salem received her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Communication Culture and Media studies from Howard University.
Dr. Clemons’ dissertation focused on female black consumers and their perception of advertisement of luxury brands.
She completed her undergraduate work from Howard University, and received her Masters from John Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD with a focus in Public Relations.
Presently, she is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University teaching Corporate Communications and Strategic Planning. Dr. Clemons was recently hired by T. Rowe Price Investment Firm in Baltimore as an account manager for The Brand and Creative Team. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for the National Children’s Center in Washington, DC and Junior Achievement of Central Maryland.
Dr. Clemons is the daughter of George and Shirley Clemons of Salem and a Salem High School class of 1996 graduate.
