This is the best way I know to describe the pathetic, alarming drug epidemic plaguing the cities, townships and rural areas of this nation, crossing all societal, ethnic and racial divides. Whether mental, spiritual, social or economic, death is being freely sold illegally and especially legally, over as well as under the counters of this nation with many approved by the FDA, unable to be controlled once sold. Whether legal or especially illegal, individuals who sell drugs to others automatically specialize in “Death for Sale,” whether instant or on the installment plan. The only thing that differs is the time it takes to self-destruct–for both users and sellers.
Who can be so shortsighted they cannot see the long term character assassination associated with drugs or other illegalities that will haunt and/or destroy, not only any creditable future we may have but that of our posterity or other loved ones. What amount of money could be worth such perpetual humiliation? No matter what quiet or lavish lifestyle one may assume there will always remain the perpetual fear that we or a loved one may be adversely affected by our indiscretion.
Think about it! What is the most you can gain for this lifetime of humiliation? If you become a drug lord or kingpin (which in all probability you never will) you would only live in more elaborate fear with a higher price tag on your head. In the petty pusher/user category, however–in which most fall, the most ever realized is an expensive vehicle (or several in some cases). Is this really worth selling one’s soul, freedom and all future hope knowingly peddling what could maim or kill even the innocent unborn? Think, now!
There are those of us who can recall the days when pride and dignity were top priorities taught in schools, churches, and especially within homes (even uneducated ones) and neither was for sale for a fast buck. With the advancement of time and technology, however, somehow morals, manners, pride and dignity are becoming unpopular.
It is becoming uncommonly clear that the time has come for us to stop following the “in-crowd” to appear popular among people. We can no longer pacify ourselves by shifting blame for society’s ills on others. We are the masters of our own fate and the creators of our own environment. We must elininate Death for Sale!
