The Ladies of Vision ( LOV) Ministry invites you to the 4th annual “The New Me—No More Scars” domestic violence awareness conference, Saturday April 2, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The conference will be held at Holiday Inn Tanglewood, 4468 Starkey Road, Roanoke VA 24018.
Keynote speaker for this year’s conference, Evangelist Tomeka Robinson, who suffered and survived domestic violence. Her impactful message is entitled “The Power of Love,” Evangelist Robinson is a member of Positive Impact Ministries and the lead singer of the Faithful Travelers from Martinsville, VA. In addition, Mr. Samuel Hayes, CEO Stratageum, will share his testimony on the effects of growing up in an abusive home. The title of his testimony is “A Child Shouldn’t Have to Go Through.”
Breakout sessions will be conducted for Women, Young Adult/Teen Females, and Men/Young Adult/Teen Males. Inspirational music will be rendered by an amazing soloist, Evangelist Karen Walker, is a member of Spirit of Liberty Worship Center, Thanks to the generous contributions from pre-conference events and sponsors, a delicious continental breakfast and lunch will be included in the Registration Fee of only $25 for adults – that is a $5 reduction versus last year. LOV will also offer a discount conference fee of $22 for groups of 20 or more adults.
Because large numbers of Teens /Young Adults ages (13-22) experience violence in their boyfriend/girlfriend relationships (huge problem in high schools and colleges), LOV encourages them to come at a registration fee of only $15. The first 20 Teens/Young Adult to register will be free of charge. Local domestic violence agencies will be available to provide information, assistance, and/or one-on-one counseling as needed. Additionally, several local vendors will be present with a variety of merchandise for sale.
LOV Ministry members are excited about this 4th annual domestic violence conference, and encourage you to come out expecting to receive moving messages, uplifting testimonies, encouragement, support, help and services available to victims and their families in the Roanoke Valley.
