KANSAS CITY, MO – More postseason accolades have come in for star defender Elijah Lloyd Jr. (Roanoke/ North Cross), this time in a regional capacity as announced by United Soccer Coaches. He was selected to the USC Division III Men’s Region VI Third Team for his efforts on the pitch this season. Earlier this month, Lloyd as named to the All-ODAC Second Team for the second time in his career. He was one of the team’s leaders on the back line and helped the Yellow Jackets become one of the best defensive teams in the nation.
Through his leadership, Randolph-Macon became one of the best defensive teams in the nation. The Yellow Jackets recorded nine clean sheets on the season for a shutout percentage of .529, No. 28 in the nation and tops in the ODAC!
Lloyd was also able to show his versatility and shine on the offensive end on occasion. He had three goals and an assist on the year for seven points. He scored two of the three goals in a shutout of Guilford, and also had the game winner in a shutout of Shenandoah. The Yellow Jackets went 10-4-3 overall and 5-1-3 in the ODAC to finish third.
