The original Broadway production Christopher Durang’s comedy won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Play, among other awards.
Ferrum College Arts department will present Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, an entertaining comedy play written by Christopher Durang. Performances will be held on November 12 – 14 at 7 p.m., and on November 15 at 2:00 p.m., in Schoolfield Hall’s Sale Theatre.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens and students outside of Ferrum College. Ferrum students, faculty and staff are admitted free with current ID. Non-perishable food donations to the St. James Community Center Food Bank will also be accepted.
In Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, the story revolves around the relationships of three middle-aged single siblings (two of whom live together) and takes place during a visit by the third, Masha, who supports them.
The original Broadway production proved to be not only a commercial success, but it won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Play and the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play, among other awards. Please make plans to join the cast and crew of this fun filled evening of comic live theatre.
