It’s March. You’ve been hibernating. You’re ready to come out of the den and become active again. Virginia Cooperative Extension has an 8-week fitness program called FitEx, that you’ll actually stick with because it’s teamwork.
Find a team of 6 (friends, family or coworkers). Choose a captain and a team name. Set a goal for how many miles you personally will go in 8-weeks (A “Mile” is a 15-minute period of moderate physical activity of your choice). Add individual mileage goals together to form one team goal. Sign-in to your FitEx page every day and log the number of “miles” you’ve gone and the number of cups of fruits and vegetables you’ve eaten. View the FitEx tracking charts to see how you and your team members are doing. Watch your team work toward its goal and compare your team to others across the state of Virginia!
Registration started March 1 and the program will run March 15-May 9.
