Governor Ralph Northam has established the Commission on African-American History Education charged with reviewing Virginia’s history standards, instructional practices and delivery. The Commission is further charged to make recommendations to the Governor on the professional development supports needed to equip all teachers for culturally competent instruction.
A panel discussion on African-American History Education will be held in Roanoke at 6:00pm Tuesday, Feb. 11, at the Harrison Museum of African-American Culture located at One Market Square, downtown. The panel will be comprised of local educators and leaders.
