The Roanoke Branch NAACP will present its 4th Annual “Jazz on the Lawn” from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 24. in the Clint Barlow’s massive lawn located at 3646 Cove Rd., NW. This fundraiser is given to assist the 2018 ACT-SO Olympians attend the National Competition in San Antonio, TX.
In July, four local gold medalists will compete in the National ACT-SO (Afro-Academic Cultural Technological Scientific Olympics) Competition. All of them are graduating seniors from William Fleming High School.
The following Olympians and their competition categories are: Leila Bryant-Performing Arts-Vocal Contemporary; Cevonte’ Burwell, Visual Arts-Drawing; Tiana Horace, STEM-Chemistry/Biochemistry; and Tnajia Smith, Performing Arts- Poetry Performance.
This year’s “Jazz on the Lawn” will be better than ever! Everyone is invited to come, bring a lawn chairs and coolers and enjoy an evening of good music. You can also get the best-fried fish in the valley. Please come out and support this worthwhile program!
Tickets are only $15.00 with proceeds to help the youth “bring a National Medal back to Roanoke!”
