One Valley Inc. will host “Life Skills on the Lawn” Saturday, Oct. 7 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church located at 502 Gilmer Street NW. Topics covered to include: character building, life skills, core values, health, education and schooling along with activities and presentations: gardening, Boy and Girl Scouts, Roanoke Health, community college information and a “Back to School” drawing contest. Representatives from Goodwill Industries, the Bank of Botetourt, and Gweneth Martin, environmental specialist are invited guests. Free food and refreshments will be available.
