Ivies Inc. of the Roanoke Valley ® recently awarded scholarships to 11 high school graduates of the Roanoke Valley in partnership with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. ® Beta Chi Omega Chapter. In addition, 2 graduating high school seniors received Beta Chi Omega’s HBCU for Life Academic Achievement Scholarship Awards.
The programs of Ivies Incorporated of the Roanoke Valley ® support and enhance the quality of life in the communities served through work with local and national partners. That work is carried out through volunteerism, financial contributions, and scholarships.
The 2022 scholarship recipients are: Rachel Baffoe-Bonnie, a graduate of Cave Spring High School, is the recipient of the Ivies Inc. Eunice Poindexter Scholarship for Outstanding Academic Achievement. Baffoe-Bonnie is the daughter of Francisca and Anthony Baffoe-Bonnie.
Ashton Tinsley, a graduate of Patrick Henry High School, received the Ivies Inc. Hattie B. Austin Scholarship. Tinsley is the son of the late Carol and Julian Tinsley.
Additional Ivies Inc. scholarships were awarded to Jaylen Rosser, a graduate of William Byrd High School, daughter of Erica and Jonathan Rosser; Nyia Palmer, a graduate of Hidden Valley High School, daughter of Nakia Price Palmer and Kenneth Palmer; Isabella Erber, a graduate of James River High School, daughter of Julia Clark and the late Alfred Erber; Victoria Erber, a graduate of James River High School, daughter of Julia Clark and the late Alfred Erber; Sanii Nash-Fuell, a graduate of Northside High School, daughter of Tanisha Nash and Jemarh Fuell; Kenisha Jones, a graduate of Patrick Henry High School, daughter of Venita Jones; James Beasley, Jr., a graduate of Patrick Henry High School, son of Jamie and Jim Beasley; Shauna Paddyforte, a graduate of Patrick Henry High School, daughter of Natalie and Solomon Paddyforte; Hannah Dillon, a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School, daughter of Carmen Arndt and Robert Dillon.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. ® Beta Chi Omega Chapter also awarded the HBCU for Life Academic Achievement Scholarship Awards to Kathlyn Brown, a graduate of Patrick Henry High School, daughter of Amy Brown. Kristen Brown, a graduate of Patrick Henry High School, daughter of Amy Brown.
