On June 27, 2020, the graduating students of Sweet Union Baptist Church where treated to a special drive-thru celebration sponsored by the Youth Council and the Scholarship Ministry. As church family and friends passed these students, they were greeted with cheers, gifts, and love.
The graduating students were presented with scholarships from the Scholarship Ministry as well Ronald L. Williams, son of Ronald and Lorena Williams, and Dallas Riles, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Riles receiving recognition for receiving all A and B grades throughout the entire school year. Also recognized was Brandi Heard who graduated from Liberty University with a Degree of Masters of Arts: Human Services Counseling.

Darius Julian Breshawn Lewis, son of Tamika Lewis, awarded the Edward T. Burton Scholarship 1st Place Award graduated from Salem High School and plans to attend Old Dominion University, Norfolk VA with a Psychology/Business Administration, major:
Teona McQueen, daughter of Trinnell and Nannatte McQueen awarded: Edward T. Burton Scholarship, 2nd Place Award. The William Fleming High School graduated plans to attend Norfolk State University, and Major in Criminal Justice.
