Come join in an evening of inspiration at 5:30 pm Thursday, Sept. 26, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, at Jefferson Street and Elm Ave., in downtown Roanoke. The celebration supports the Sisters’ in our lives, at this Ninth Annual Sisters’ Night Out event, with information and resources for live healthier lives.
The event is planned in order to bring Sisters together to share educational information on breast health with a focus on emphasizing the importance of early detection, treatment, and the effects of cancer on the body, mind, and soul.
Receiving a diagnosis of breast cancer can be one of the most distressing events women ever experience, and women may not know where to turn for help. The primary intent is to provide information and resources to assist individuals facing a cancer related diagnosis, from a holistic framework, focusing on the Body, Mind and Soul.
Presenters for the evening include: Karianita Ojomo, MD, Radiation Oncologist with Blue Ridge Cancer Care; Virginia O’Brien, MD, System Wide Director of Ambulatory Services Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Carilion Clinic, and Lutheria Smith a Breast Cancer survivor.
The event is free, but you must register for a ticket, at eventbrite.com.
