Rae Danielle Swain of Charlottesville, VA is the Web Communications Assistant in the School of Architecture at the University of Virginia (UVA). Swain earned her Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in 2014 from James Madison University. A media arts and design major, Swain was named to the dean’s list and president’s list during her four years of study.
She was also a four-year member of the Marching Royal Dukes Color Guard, participated in the 2013 Macy’s parade and the 2014 Virginia Governor’s Inaugural parade. Swain was previously employed as a marketing and technology specialist at Lexus of Richmond.
Rae is the daughter of Roanoke natives Michael A. and Jacqueline Powell Swain of Midlothian, VA. Her grandparents are Welthea and Carroll Swain of Salem and Mattie V. and the late Talmadge D. Powell, Sr. of Roanoke.
