The Roanoke Chapter of Chums, Inc. welcomes Dr. Muriel Brown Mickles as the newest member. She was installed on April 8, 2023, at the Salem Civic Center. Muriel is Vice President of Academics, Students, and Workforce Development at Central Virginia Community College in Lynchburg. Her daughter Bethanie became a member last year. What a delight to have both mother and daughter as Chums.
Chums, Inc. is a 501C(3) nonprofit, social, and civic organization, founded in 1946. The National Theme “listen to the children…enrich their lives,” guides each chapter in determining a community’s needs. There are 37 chapters of Chums in the United States. Francine Claytor McLaughlin is the local chapter president.
