On Sunday, June 26 members of the Roanoke Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. awarded $3000 in college scholarships to three deserving college-bound high school seniors. The scholarship recipients are William Fleming seniors Tyrell Adams who will be attending the University of Virginia (UVA), and Michael Manns who will be attending Ferrum College; and Curtis Staples, a senior at Salem High School who will be attending Stanford University.
Al Elliott, scholarship committee chairman, presented the awards with special recognition going to Cuz’s Autobody Repair of Salem for sponsoring one of the scholarships. The presentation was held at Sweet Union Baptist Church, where Rev. M. Sylvia Ball is pastor.
