The Roanoke Chapter, Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) will host its annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Banquet on Friday, Jan. 16, 2015 starting at 6:30 p.m. The location is the Holiday Inn Valley View, 3315 Ordway Dr., N.W.
This year’s Banquet speaker will be Ms. Pam White, executive director, of Equity Access at Virginia Tech. She received the Bachelor degree from Florida State University and her law degree from Nova Southeastern University.
Drum Major for Justice Award: Honorees are William Calloway, Gayle Graves, Jeffery Mays, Flossie Lomax, Yzavia Haney, Michael Hamlar, Del. Sam Rasoul, Gloria Manns and Esq. Kevin Wilson.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Service Award Honorees are Priscilla Casey, Cecelia McCoy, Capt. Rick Morrison, Joseph H. Moses of Northwest Hardware, New Horizon Healthcare Center and the Northwest Child Development Center.
Perneller Chubb-Wilson Justice Award Honoree is Shawn Hunter.
