Community Foundation Serving Western Virginia announced that it has awarded a grant of $65,367 to Rescue Mission of Roanoke to provide much needed repairs to its infrastructure. Funds will be used to replace the HVAC system in its Men’s Shelter and a total roof replacement for the Mission’s main building.
“The Rescue Mission has an increasing focus on Case Management with an emphasis on helping guests move from crisis to stability, and getting started off well in the Case Management process is critical. The Community Foundation recognized the need for stable heating and air conditioning in the Mission’s Men’s Emergency Shelter as well as a new roof to enable the Rescue Mission to continue to offer life-changing resources to the individuals we serve. They, together with other donors, stepped up to make these crucial facility upgrades possible”, said Lee Clark, Rescue Mission CEO.
“This grants comes from the Foundation’s unrestricted Community Catalyst Funds, says Michelle Eberly, director of Grants & Donor Engagement. “These Funds play a crucial role in that they allow us to respond to the ever-changing needs in the community. We are thrilled to be in a position to support the Rescue Mission and the work it does.”
